Herb's 'Burb - 1963 was a Very Good Year! |
Herb Spies bought this beautiful 1963 Chevrolet Suburban CarryAll in 2005 proving that eBay is a dangerous place to go. |
The original 292 six-cylinder power plant had been replaced with a 305 small-block and Turbo 350 transmission. It is also equipped with mid '80s power brakes and power steering. |
The exterior has been painted sometime since 2000 and one of Herb's next projects is to get the interior up to speed. |
As you can see here, it has the modern conveniences: air conditioning, radios -AM AND FM with CD player, center console, custom gauges, etc, etc..... |
In 2000, Herb acquired this 1963 Airstream Globetrotter. As you can see, Herb has mastered the art of polishing aluminum! |
So far (as of Jan 2007), the longest trip Herb has taken in his rig has been 2000 miles from his Shalimar, Florida home. |
Before they upgraded to the Suburban, Herb and Sidra towed the Airstream with their '57 Chevy Station Wagon. |
Herb and his family enjoy going to Vintagetrailer events. Check out Tin Can Tourists at tincantourists.com. If they give prizes I'll bet Herb wins a first place every time!! |
Herb is presently looking for a 5.3/4L60 drive train from a newer Suburban/Tahoe to replace the old 305/350. |
