Check out this cherry original 65
C-30 Caveman 23-1/2 foot fully self contained motorhome.
This coach was put on a new '65 Chevrolet chassis in
Grants Pass Oregon in 1966 at Caveman Industries, which
no longer exists. They made a lot of campers and
chassis mount rigs. Equipped with a 292 cid power plant
and a 4-speed transmission this rig was made for
vacationing in style. Joe Chasse of Ocean Park,
Washington (Jtruck on
chevytalk.com) is the proud owner of this fine
machine.
Joe has kept this
one pretty original. Dual batteries with the original
Perko Marine 3-way switch. There's a large solar panel
on the roof to keep the system charged up. Because the
old frig doesn't keep up in real hot country, a couple
little computer fans have been placed in the louvers on
the side of the coach to improve air flow. They are
hooked to the solar panel so that the sunnier it gets
the faster the fans run. The holding tanks have been
upgraded so Joe can stay out in the hills for months at
a time!!
